The IHC has a new Board of Directors and Coordinators

The new members of the Governing Bodies and Coordinators of the IHC’s Research Groups were elected yesterday at the General Assembly. The new President of the IHC Board is Luís Trindade, an Assistant Researcher at the IN2PAST Associated Laboratory and an Integrated Researcher at the IHC. Previously, Luís Trindade was a professor at the University of Coimbra and at Birkbeck, University of London.
The IHC’s new Board of Directors, made up of seven people, will also include Ana Isabel Queiroz, Assistant Professor in the Geography department at NOVA FCSH, and Rui Lopes, Assistant Researcher at the IHC, as vice-presidents; and Elisabete Pereira, Joana Dias Pereira, Raquel Ribeiro, and Victor Pereira, as members, all researchers hired under the Individual Scientific Employment Stimulus programme. In addition to the seven elected members, the Coordinator of the IHC Centre at the University of Évora, Maria de Fátima Nunes, Full Professor, is also a member of the Board.
The Board of the General Assembly will have a new president, Raquel Pereira Henriques (Assistant Professor at NOVA FCSH), while Ana Cristina Martins (researcher at the University of Évora) and Daniel Alves (Assistant Professor at NOVA FCSH) will remain vice-president and secretary, respectively. The Supervisory Board retained the chairmanship of Jorge Pedreira (Associate Professor at NOVA FCSH), renewing its members to include researchers Maria do Mar Gago and Ricardo Noronha.
As for the coordinators of the IHC’s four Research Groups (RGs), the following were elected: Arturo Zoffmann Rodriguez for the RG in Political History, with Xurxo Ayán Vila as alternate; Bruno Zorek for the RG in Economy and Society; Rita Luís for the RG in Culture, with Catarina Laranjeiro as alternate; and Quintino Lopes for the RG in History of Science, Technology, and the Environment. All the coordinators are researchers at different stages of their careers.
According to the IHC Regulations, all terms of office will last three years.
