António Hespanha (1945-2019)
Jul 2, 2019 | News
On behalf of the Institute of Contemporary History, we deeply regret the death of our colleague António Manuel Hespanha. Author of a notable work in the field of History – but also in Law – he was a professor in the Department of History of the NOVA School of Social Sciences and Humanities, where some of us had the privilege of having him as a teacher, and later a professor at the Law School of the same university.
We have had the pleasure and benefit of counting on the collaboration of Professor Hespanha in several initiatives developed by the IHC in recent years. He was a member of the Scientific Council of the journal “Práticas da História – Journal on Theory, Historiography and Uses of the Past“, for which he contributed in many ways, from writing peer-reviews to writing essays.
