Increased Funding for IHC’s Strategic Plan 2020-2023
Jul 5, 2019 | News

The publication of the preliminary results of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) evaluation, has revealed a significant increase of the IHC’s annual funding, with around EUR 2 million allocated by the panel of international evaluators for the period 2020-2023.
This is the culmination of a process that began in early 2018 with the submission of the centre’s application to the FCT, preserving the existing research groups and creating new, more comprehensive thematic lines, with a strong increase in the digital component of research.
The scientific project for the next four years received the top score (5 in 5), which the IHC Board of Directors considers to be a very positive stimulus for the near future of the centre.
In addition to the funding allocated to the centre, the IHC will also have eight PhD scholarships funded by the FCT, aimed at conducting doctoral research in the different doctoral programmes to which it is associated.
