IHC offers internships to FCSH students
Aug 5, 2021 | News

The IHC offers internships to undergraduate and master’s students at NOVA FCSH for the academic year 2021/2022, thus providing a first direct contact with the Institute’s research practices.
This new IHC initiative intends to value research as an academic career; contribute to deepening the link between research and teaching; develop the intersections of Contemporary History with other disciplinary frameworks; and respond to the interest in research already shown by NOVA FCSH students.
Internships are one semester long and optional; they are available for several Bachelors and Masters degrees at NOVA FCSH. They comprise a small research work that is autonomously defined (with an objective, a methodology, an output), although part of a broader project, supervised by a researcher or professor with a contract with NOVA FCSH. The student receives basic material and information, which he/she must deepen or complete in the course of the work. In dialogue and collaboration with the supervisor, the student works on sources and prepares an output, in the form of a report, a scientific article (to be submitted individually or collectively), a database, a digital exhibition, etc.
The IHC will allocate a budget to support needs related to the pursuit of the objective of the work (eg, visits to archives, digitisation), duly justified.
Students interested in applying for internship proposals at the IHC should contact ihc.concursos@fcsh.unl.pt with the subject: “Application for a curricular internship”. The email must include the CV and a motivation letter.
