Oct 11, 2021 | News

The IHC has created GenLab, the Contemporary History Laboratory dedicated to research in Gender Studies. It is “a cross-cutting meeting space at the IHC, open to researchers whose work focuses on (or intersects with) issues of gender, sexualities, family, among others”.
The public presentation and first meeting will take place on 14 and 15 October, at Colégio Almada Negreiros and Museu do Aljube, in Lisbon, with free registration via the email genlab@fcsh.unl.pt.
Among other initiatives, the meeting includes the screening of the documentary film ‘Outras Cartas ou o amor inventado’ [Other Letters or Invented Love], by Leonor Noivo (2012), and a visit to the exhibition ‘Women and Resistance – “New Portuguese Letters” and other struggles’, guided by the curator Rita Rato.
