At the invitation of the European Commission, Cláudia Ninhos took part for the second time in the Civil Society Forum on Combating Antisemitism and Fostering Jewish Life, which took place at the beginning of April in Brussels.
The Forum was organised as part of the European Union (EU) Strategy on Combating Antisemitism and Fostering Jewish Life (2021-2030), and brought together more than 250 participants — including representatives of various institutions, educators, politicians and researchers — from more than 30 countries. It focused ‘on how to (re)build bridges, promote dialogue, create synergies and new joint initiatives advancing towards a European society in which Jewish life continues to prosper’.
This EU strategy aims to ‘significantly step up the fight against antisemitism and help create an inclusive society based on equality and respect, to ensure a good perspective for the future of Jews in Europe’. The IHC researcher’s participation was part of her civic and research work on this issue, particularly in the context of the Second World War.
