The IHC and the Padrão dos Descobrimentos / EGEAC have opened the competition for the second edition of the Amílcar Cabral Prize, which aims to promote scientific research and public debate on anti-colonial resistances and colonial processes that marked global history from the 15th century to the present day.
As in the inaugural edition, the Prize is international in nature and consists of a research fellowship in Lisbon to be awarded to a recent doctorate. The jury for the 2022 edition will be composed of Manuela Ribeiro Sanches (Institute of Contemporary History), Victor Barros (École des Hautes Études Hispaniques et Ibériques at Casa de Velázquez) and Rui Gomes Coelho (Durham University).
Applications are open until 31 January 2023 and the rules of the Prize can be found here.
