Biography
Marta Silva é investigadora do Instituto de História Contemporânea da NOVA FCSH, onde faz o doutoramento sobre auxílio à emigração irregular em contexto rural. Tem privilegiado a pesquisa em áreas rurais de baixa densidade, nos distritos de Viseu e da Guarda, onde observa o papel de agentes mediadores no interior das relações de força e as dinâmicas sociais locais na sua relação com o poder central e os seus representantes “periféricos”. Na investigação histórica, baseada sobretudo em metodologias qualitativas (como a história oral), procura dialogar com disciplinas como a antropologia ou a sociologia. Participou em vários projetos multidisciplinares e interdisciplinares, procurando abordar momentos de resistência, de conflito e de transformação social.
