Maria de Fátima Nunes, Vice-President of the IHC Board of Directors and Full Professor at the University of Évora, was invited to join the Scientific Council for the Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), coordinated by the sociologist Helena Machado, from the University of Minho.
The presentation of the members of the new FCT Scientific Councils took place on 19 April at the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Higher Education, and was attended by the Minister of Science and Higher Education, Elvira Fortunato, and members of the FCT Board of Directors.
As stated on the FCT website, the four Scientific Councils (Exact Sciences and Engineering; Life and Health Sciences; Natural Sciences and the Environment; Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences) are “an advisory body to support the FCT Board of Directors, with a role of extreme relevance at the level of strategic advice and recommendations on the development, implementation, and adequacy of support programs for science and technology.”
