Biography
I completed five years of my law degree at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, the 4th year of which I did in Bologna (Italy) under the Socrates-Erasmus programme, and subsequently completed the curricular year of the Master’s Degree in Legal and Criminal Sciences at the same institution, having also been a member of the Portuguese Bar Association since 2010.
More recently, I had the opportunity to dedicate myself to the area of humanities that has always aroused great interest, entering the master’s course in History (specialising in Contemporary History) in 2019, choosing NOVA FCSH. As part of that course, which I completed in 2022, I presented a dissertation entitled “Republicanismo a Sul do Tejo na imprensa local, 1907-1913” [Republicanism south of the Tagus in the local press, 1907-1913]. I’m currently a PhD student on the History course (specialising in Contemporary History) at the same institution and an FCT scholarship holder. My thesis is entitled “Crise Política e Conflito na Regeneração: Portugal e o Sexénio Democrático (1868-1874)” [Political Crisis and Conflict in the Regeneration: Portugal and the Democratic Six-Year Period (1868-1874)], investigating the impact of the turbulent Spanish Democratic Six-Year Period on Portugal, particularly with regard to the circulation of political ideas and the actions of opposition groups on this side of the border during that period.
Throughout my career, I have developed a keen interest in local history, as well as in the study of the press as a source of knowledge about the social and political realities to be investigated.
