Biography
Alexandre de Sousa has been a researcher at the Institute of Contemporary History since 2018.
Holds a Masters in History – with the dissertation “O Teatro Estúdio do Salitre, um teatro improvável entra a Arte e a Política” – NOVA School of Social Sciences and Humanities (NOVA FCSH); Maîtrise ès-Lettres, Sorbonne Université – Research methods in Portuguese written literature with a dissertation on “Teatro Estúdio do Salitre”. Equivalence to the Degree in Modern Languages and Literatures – NOVA FCSH. MA in Romance Literatures (curricular phase) – NOVA FCSH.
He is currently developing the PhD research project “Os Congressos do Partido Republicano Português – Republicanismos em debate (1883-1911)” [The Portuguese Republican Party Congresses – Republicanisms in debate], as part of the PhD Programme in History at NOVA FCSH.
Professional actor since 1964.
