Patrícia Santos Batista

Biography
She graduated in History — Education from the University of Coimbra (in 2002) and began her professional career as a history teacher. Her passion for education translated into a quest for knowledge in areas related to her initial training. In 2004, she completed a postgraduate programme in Archaeology and Heritage at the NOVA University Lisbon. In 2007, she completed a specialisation in Museums and Education at the University of Évora, where she went on to complete a Master’s degree in Museology. Her professional experience as a teacher and, from 31 January 2005, as a technician in a local institution, more specifically in the Albufeira Municipal Archaeology Museum, consolidated her interest in heritage education and cultural mediation in non-formal education spaces. After coordinating contemporary artistic creation at Loulé City Council (2015-2018), she joined the team at the National Archaeological Museum, where she is currently coordinator of the Inventory and Collections Service. She is studying for a PhD in History and Philosophy of Science: Museology at the University of Évora.
