Aniki and HoST indexed by Scopus
Sep 27, 2023 | News

The journals Aniki: Revista Portuguesa da Imagem em Movimento and HoST – Journal of History of Science and Technology, both published with the support of the IHC, were accepted for indexing by the Scopus platform.
Aniki was founded in May 2013 by the Portuguese Association of Researchers of the Moving Image (AIM). It aims to “promote the links between Portuguese-speaking and international scientific communities devoted to film and media studies”, offering “specialised platform to debate all types of moving image, from arthouse, popular and non-theatrical films to television programmes, videos, and video games, digital cultures, sound and music in film, among other topics of interest.” The Editor-in-chief is Sofia Sampaio (ICS — ULisboa) and it has Rui Lopes as coordinator of the Essays section.
On the other hand, HoST was founded in 2007 and is a journal that “explores the cultural, social and political dimensions of science, technology, and medicine (STM) in history across the world”. Its origins lie in “efforts to develop the Portuguese community of historians of science, technology and medicine”. Its Advisory Board team includes Maria de Fátima Nunes and Quintino Lopes, with Bárbara Direito (CIUHCT — NOVA FCT) as Chief Editor.
Both journals are published online and in open access: Aniki on the OJS platform and HoST on Sciendo (De Gruyter). The IHC is delighted to have the three journals it supports (these plus Práticas da História) now indexed in Scopus, the result of a collective effort to internationalise, provide public access to the science produced in strategic areas, and the quality of the research promoted by the Institute.
