Felipe Brandi
Biography
Felipe Brandi holds a PhD in History and Civilisation from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) in Paris. He completed his Master’s and undergraduate degrees in Social and Cultural History at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio).
His research focuses on 20th century Intellectual History, with a special interest in a historical and critical approach to contemporary historical thought. His main areas of research are Historiography, Cultural History, and Memory Studies, and his lines of research are Intellectual History, Medieval Representations in the Modern and Contemporary Ages, and Theory of History.
After his PhD, Felipe Brandi was invited by the publisher Gallimard to work as scientific editor for the edition of Œuvres de Georges Dubys at the Bibliothèque de la Pléiade (2019). He is also co-author of the book La Chambre de veille (Flammarion, 2013), with François Hartog and Thomas Hirsh. He was Visiting Professor, in 2020, at the University of São Paulo, at the Rui Barbosa Institute for High Studies in Culture and at the Department of History of PUC-Rio; and in 2022, at the University of São Paulo and at the Fluminense Federal University. His current research is focused on the memorial avatars of the representation of the Three Orders in Europe.

Acordar História Adormecida: Os documentos do Projecto VINCULUM

Entre Abril e de Maio de 2024, o projecto VINCULUM organiza o ciclo de conversas “Acordar História Adormecida: Os documentos do Projecto VINCULUM”.
As sessões terão lugar em diferentes instituições culturais em Lisboa e Guimarães e contarão com a participação de alguns jovens investigadores/as do VINCULUM – Maria Teresa Oliveira, Ana Mafalda Lopes e Fábio Duarte – que darão a conhecer diversas temáticas através da documentação associada ao projecto.
Resumo:
A análise sistemática de testamentos e de instituições de morgados e capelas datados entre os séculos XIV e XVII, no âmbito do projeto VINCULUM, permitiu-nos recolher uma série de informações não só relativas à perpetuação da memória familiar e à salvação da alma, mas também à construção física das capelas, aos seus ornamentos e alfaias litúrgicas, aos legados de bens móveis como vestuário, mobiliário, livros ou bens valiosos, e às relações criadas entre os membros da família. Esta apresentação pretende, deste modo, explorar este último ponto, ficando a conhecer as relações de conflituosidade ou de afecto existentes entre os membros da família, mas também com os criados, escravos e vizinhos. Pretende ainda perceber de que modo essas relações influenciaram a forma como os instituidores redigiram o testamento ou determinaram as suas disposições. Por fim, interessa-nos explorar a forma como transmitiram o seu património e os meios utilizados para o fazer perpetuar no seio familiar.
