Nov 25, 2022 | News

IN2PAST, the Associate Laboratory for Research and Innovation in Heritage, Arts, Sustainability and Territory, will be formally presented in Lisbon on the afternoon of 2 December, at the NOVA School of Social Sciences and Humanities.
The only Associate Laboratory in Portugal in the field of Humanities is composed of seven research units from different disciplinary areas (HERCULES, IHC, CESEM, CHAIA, CRIA, IHA, and LAB2PT) belonging to five different universities: University of Évora, NOVA University Lisbon, Iscte-IUL, University of Minho, and University of Coimbra.
The objective of IN2PAST is to be a reference for the study and valorisation of cultural heritage, understood in its tangible and intangible dimensions, a fundamental instrument for research and innovation both in the identification and safeguarding of cultural heritage and in the promotion of an inclusive cultural identity and civic memory.
It is organised into five research lines: “Science and Technology for Cultural Heritage”, “Landscapes, Territories and Cultural Heritage”, “Museums, Monuments and its Collections”, “Archives, from Preventive Preservation to Digitalisation”, and “Cultural Circulation, Public Policies on Memory and Inclusive Citizenship”.
This presentation session will be attended by António Candeias (President of IN2PAST), Cristina Brito (Deputy Director for Research of NOVA FCSH) and Maria de Lurdes Rodrigues (Rector of Iscte-IUL), as well as several members of the IN2PAST Board and Scientific Council.
The session is open to the interested public.
