The exhibition Portugal-Espanha, 50 anos de Democracia [Portugal-Spain, 50 years of Democracy], which ‘addresses the processes of the Iberian transition to democracy through iconographic and documentary sources’, focussing on the late 1970s, was curated by historian Manuel Loff.
An initiative of the Commemorative Commission 50 Years 25 April, in partnership with the Torre do Tombo National Archive, will be inaugurated on 9 October at 4.30pm at the Torre do Tombo National Archive. The opening will include a concert by the Spanish poet and singer Manuel Gerena, followed by a guided tour by Manuel Loff.
This exhibition is part of the “Portugal-Spain Cross Cultural Programme – 50 years of democracy”, a collaboration between institutions from the Ministries of Culture and Foreign Affairs of the two countries. It will be on display until 31 January 2025, in the Exhibition Hall of the Torre do Tombo National Archive, and can be visited between Monday and Saturday, from 9.30am to 7.30pm.
