José Neves joins the new FCSH Board
Jul 21, 2025 | News

José Neves was appointed Deputy Director for Planning and Infrastructures at the NOVA School of Social Sciences and Humanities (FCSH) by the school’s new Director, art historian Alexandra Curvelo.
The formal announcement was made at the swearing-in ceremony, which took place on 17 July. In her speech, the new Director of the FCSH emphasised as her first line of action ‘the liaising of teaching and research through a closer collaboration between teaching departments, research centres and science managers’.
José Neves is an Assistant Professor at FCSH and a member of NOVA University Lisbon’s Council. Between 2021 and 2023, he was President of the IHC Board. He will now join Alexandra Curvelo’s team, which also includes Helena Serra (Deputy Director for Teaching and Students), Sónia Vespeira de Almeida (Deputy Director for Research), and Madalena Meyer Resende (Deputy Director for Internationalisation).
