A meeting that marks the 150th anniversary of Gandhi’s birth, analysing the impact of his actions and thinkings and the importance of this memory in today’s politics.
Gandhi, then and now: on the 150th anniversary of his birth
IHC, CHAM – Centro de Humanidades, and the Mário Soares Foundation joined to mark the 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth, last October. Besides highlighting Gandhi’s role as an unavoidable figure in India’s independence process, this meeting will try to analyse his actions and thinking impacts on colonial Portugal, as well as debate the importance of his memory in today’s politics.
