The scholarship applications for the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree ‘History in the Public Sphere‘, of which IHC is one of the proposing and participating institutions, are now open. Sixteen scholarships will be awarded, covering tuition fees and travel and living costs, and applications will run until 16 March.
This two-year program focuses on “the ways the past is represented, contested, and negotiated in the public sphere, exploring various contexts from the early modern period to the present in a comparative and transnational way”, as can be read on the official website.
The master’s degree takes place in four different universities and countries: Central European University (Budapest, Hungary), Tokyo University of Foreign Studies (Japan), Universidade NOVA de Lisboa (Portugal), and University of Florence (Italy). In this video, from Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, featuring Pedro Aires Oliveira, IHC coordinator and one of the professors of the master’s degree, makes an invitation to choose the city — one of four that students can select in the second year of the program.
