Third IHC Summer School in Évora
Jul 15, 2024 | News
In 2024, the IHC Summer School will return to the University of Évora for its third edition on 19 and 20 September, dedicated to the topic “Por que é tão importante o 25 Abril de 1974? Património, Comemorações e Memorialização” [Why is 25 April 1974 so important? Heritage, Commemorations, and Memorialisation].
As the organisers explain on the school’s webpage, “in a year that marks the 50th anniversary of the April Revolution and (in 2025) of independences and decolonisation, this edition will focus on multiple issues related to heritage and the musealisation of revolutions and resistance, and the role of territories, communities, memories, and emotions in this whole process.”
Designed for a wide range of audiences, the IHC offers special conditions for students from all three cycles of higher education, who can apply for scholarships that cover the cost of enrolment and accommodation. Applications must be made by 22 July.
