This week, Raquel Varela received the Iberoamerican ASICOM-Universidad de Oviedo Prize, awarded by the Asociación Iberoamericana de la Comunicación (ASICOM), in collaboration with the University of Oviedo.
The award is given annually to personalities and institutions that have distinguished themselves in different disciplines, in the Ibero-American context, and who have contributed to the construction of the region’s culture and traditions, bringing together Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula.
The ceremony took place on 6 October, at the University of Oviedo, having been chaired by the rector Santiago García Granda, with the presence of the Mayor of Oviedo, Alfredo Canteli, and the vice-president of ASICOM, Laura Galguera. Vicente del Bosque, Raúl Rojas Martínez, Juan Ignacio Gallardo, Silvio Rodríguez, and the Fundación Microfinanzas BBVA were also honoured.
