The Lisbon City Hall paid tribute to the historian José Medeiros Ferreira with the attribution of his name to the garden located next to the Rectory of the NOVA University Lisbon, north of the Campolide Campus.
José Medeiros Ferreira (1942-2014) was a student leader, opponent of the Salazar regime, politician, and professor at the NOVA School of Social Sciences and Humanities. In 1990, he was one of the founders of the Institute of Contemporary History.
