Biography
Ana Carina Azevedo has a PhD in History, specialisation in Contemporary History, by the Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, with the thesis “A Organização Científica do Trabalho em Portugal após a II Guerra Mundial (1945-1974)”.
She is a researcher at the Institute of Contemporary History, and her main research interests are Portuguese history of the 20th century, namely economic and social history; history of labour and industry and history of the public administration in Portugal.
She recently collaborated, as a researcher, in the projects “Portugal 1914-1918” and “História e Arquivo Ciência Viva – Agência Nacional para a Cultura Científica e Tecnológica”, both coordinated by Maria Fernanda Rollo.
She is currently developing postdoctoral research project, funded by the Fundação para a Ciência e Teccnologia, under the topic “Um Estado em busca da eficácia? As Reformas Administrativas do Estado Novo em perspectiva histórica (1933-1974)”.
