Biografia

PhD in Classical Archaeology (2010) from the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona (UAB). I have specialized in the use of GIS and Network Analysis to analyse the Historical transportation and communication routes, mainly in Roman times. I also obtained a MSc. in Geographical Information Technologies (2012) from the UAB. After my PhD, I have been involved in several projects at the UAB, the Catalan Institute of Classical Archaeology, the Instituto de Arqueología de Mérida (IAM-CSIC), the University of Southampton and the Institut d’Estudis Catalans.

I’m also specialized in the development of non-intrusive techniques, especially Geophysical Prospection and the use of Geographical Information Systems applied to Archaeology. During the last years I’ve been working in projects focused on Digital Humanities, as the Pelagios Commons.

Since October 2016, I’m working as a Marie Curie Fellow at the Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, developing a project (Mercator-e) about the evolution of the transportation networks in the Iberian Peninsula from Roman times to the 19th Century.
