Biografia

Juan Cristóbal Marinello-Bonnefoy has a PhD in Political, Comparative and Social History (2014) by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, with a dissertation entitled “Sindicalismo y violencia en Catalunya, 1902-1919”. He is a postdoctoral researcher at the Instituto de História Contemporânea da Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, through the research group CEHFCi-Universidade de Évora and Comparative Political History. He is currently researching the scientific and technological culture of the Iberian anarchism between 1890 and 1914. His research activity has focused mainly on the study of social unrest and syndicalism in Europe during the first decades of the twentieth century. He also collaborates with the research groups “España y Nación en Cataluña: historia social” (ESNACAT) and “Grup d’Estudis República i Democràcia (GERD)” of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. He has won the Simon Collier Prize (2007), awarded by the Instituto de Historia/Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, and the XIII Young Researchers Prize (2012) awarded by the Association of Contemporary History of Spain.
