Fernando Rosas honoured at FCSH 41st Anniversary
Nov 15, 2019 | News
On 14 November, Fernando Rosas was honoured during the celebration of the 41st anniversary of the FCSH with the award of the Emeritus Professor Medal, delivered by the Rector of the Universidade NOVA de Lisboa.
As we had already reported, in October the Rectorial Order was issued, which granted this title to Fernando Rosas, one of the founders of the IHC, its former President and one of the most important historians in Portugal.
In his short thank-you speech, the professor of many present stressed the precarious situation of the workers at the institution – especially researchers and technical staff – and the quasi-poetic irony of the FCSH twice occupying military barracks and transforming them into spaces for the promotion of knowledge.
