An IHC research seminar dedicated to reading and debating selected texts, open to all interested researchers.
Second session of the third series of the free seminar offered jointly by the Instituto de Etnomusicologia – Centro de Estudo em Música e Dança, the Centro Interdisciplinar de Ciências Sociais da Universidade Nova de Lisboa , and the Institute of Contemporary History - Universidade Nova de Lisboa and that aims to debate the relations between intellectuals, scientists, and artists, on one hand, and the political power, on the other.
The cross cutting conference theme, Environmental Changes in Historical Perspective, is inscribed in transnational and transdisciplinary approaches, a challenge to the current academic research and debate in environmental sciences and humanities. It aims to be a bridge between different forms of knowledge and between different geographical and social spaces, while putting them into a meaningful context.
To strengthen the study, debate, and dissemination of labour history, of labour movement and social movements and conflicts in contemporary Portugal, IHC's Global History of Labour and Social Conflicts research group will organise the III Congress "History of the Labour Movement and Social Movements in Portugal" at the FCSH/NOVA (Lisbon).
